Hi, I’m Sabrina—and I’m so glad you’re here.
Maybe you found this page after a late-night search for a therapist who truly gets it. Maybe you’ve been sitting with a quiet (or not-so-quiet) voice inside you wondering if things have to feel this overwhelming. Maybe this is your first step. Or your fifth. However you arrived, welcome.
Tailored Talks Counseling & Conversations isn’t your typical therapy practice. We’re not here to just help you “cope.” We’re here to help you connect. To yourself. To your values. To the life you want to be living—even if right now, that life feels far away.
At Tailored Talks, therapy isn’t one-size-fits-all. It’s not cold or clinical. It’s not something that happens to you. It’s a conversation—one that’s thoughtful, grounded, and built entirely around you. Whether you’re navigating the pressures of college life, wrestling with intense emotions, exploring your gender identity, or working through patterns tied to substance use, we’ll walk through it together.
Let me tell you a little more about who we are, who we help, and why this space was created with you in mind.
Our Philosophy: Therapy That Meets You Where You Are
There’s no manual for how to be human.
And let’s be honest—some chapters feel a lot harder than others. Anxiety, burnout, shame, uncertainty… sometimes it’s hard to tell where one ends and the next begins. At Tailored Talks, we believe therapy should feel like a lifeline, not a lecture. Our role isn’t to fix you (because you’re not broken). Our role is to help you understand yourself, and to support you as you grow into the version of yourself that feels more aligned, more confident, and more grounded.
We know therapy can feel intimidating, especially if you’ve been dismissed or misunderstood before. That’s why we’ve created a virtual space where authenticity is honored, your story matters, and healing is never rushed.
Who We Help
While we work with adults of all ages, we specialize in supporting clients who are navigating:
🎓 College and Graduate School Life
College can be exciting, but it can also be isolating, stressful, and uncertain. Maybe you’re drowning in deadlines. Maybe you’re struggling to adjust. Maybe you’re trying to figure out who you are—and where you want to go. We offer therapy specifically for students who are feeling overwhelmed by the pressure to perform, unsure of their next steps, or simply looking for a space to be themselves. As your college counselor, we’re here to help you quiet the noise and reconnect with what really matters to you.
🌈 LGBTQ-Affirming Therapy
If you’re part of the LGBTQIA2S+ community, you deserve a therapist who affirms and celebrates your identity. Whether you’re questioning your gender or sexuality, going through a transition, seeking letters of support, or healing from past harm, we provide LGBTQ-affirming therapy that centers you. This isn’t about explaining who you are—it’s about supporting who you are.
🔥 Emotion Dysregulation
Do you ever feel like your emotions take over before you have a chance to catch your breath? Like you’re constantly riding an emotional rollercoaster with no off switch? You’re not alone. We offer emotion dysregulation therapy that helps you better understand and regulate intense feelings. Using proven approaches like DBT and CBT, we’ll work together to help you build healthier responses and more emotional stability—without shaming yourself for being “too much.”
💊 Substance Use and Recovery
Recovery isn’t just about stopping a behavior—it’s about rebuilding trust with yourself. We provide substance use therapy that focuses on harm reduction, motivation, and compassion. Whether you’re working toward recovery from substance use or a behavioral addiction, or you’re exploring options like Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT), we’ll support you without judgment and with respect for your unique journey.
A Word About Accessibility
All sessions at Tailored Talks are offered through secure telehealth. That means you can meet with us from the comfort and privacy of your home (or dorm, or parked car—no judgment). Life is complicated enough. We want therapy to feel simple, accessible, and flexible.
We accept a variety of insurance plans, including Highmark BCBS, UPMC commercial, Aetna, Tricare, and UnitedHealthcare. We also offer private-pay options if that works better for your situation. And if you’re not sure what you need yet, we’re happy to talk through your options during a free consultation.
What Therapy Looks Like Here
Every client is different—but here’s what you can expect:
-
A warm, nonjudgmental space
-
A therapist who listens and collaborates with you
-
A practical, down-to-earth approach (no psychobabble here)
-
Tools and strategies that actually make sense in your daily life
-
A pace that’s led by you
We’ll start by getting to know you—what brought you here, what you’re struggling with, what you hope to feel a month from now, a year from now. From there, we’ll build a plan together. You don’t have to have it all figured out. You just have to show up.
My Story: Why I Do This Work
People often ask why I became a therapist. The short answer? Because I believe people deserve to feel understood.
Before I was a therapist, I was someone who had to navigate big feelings without always having a space to put them. I know what it’s like to feel “too much,” or not enough. I know what it’s like to feel like you’re falling behind while everyone else seems to have it together. I also know what it’s like to have someone truly see you—and what a powerful shift that can create.
That’s why Tailored Talks was born. This practice exists to help people like you create a life that feels more like your own.
I’m a licensed clinical social worker with credentials in Pennsylvania (CW016077), Virginia (0904013402), and Maryland (28713). I’ve spent over a decade working with adults in therapy, with a special passion for helping college students, LGBTQIA+ individuals, and those dealing with emotional intensity and substance use. But beyond the credentials, what matters most is that I’m someone who cares—about you, your story, and your growth.
You Don’t Have to Do This Alone
If you’ve been putting your needs last for far too long...
If your body is telling you something is off, but you’re not sure what...
If you’ve ever asked yourself, “Shouldn’t life feel better than this?”—then I want you to know:
It can feel better. And it’s okay to need support getting there.
At Tailored Talks, our mission is simple: to help you feel better, live more intentionally, and move forward with confidence. Whether you’re just surviving right now or already dreaming of something more, we’re here to meet you where you are.
Ready to Take the First Step?
Reaching out can feel scary—but you won’t be met with pressure. Just a conversation.
We offer a free consultation so we can talk through your goals and make sure this feels like the right fit. No sales pitch. No pushy intake process. Just real talk about what you need and how we can help.
You can get started by visiting our Contact Page and sending a message, or email us directly. We’re here to answer any questions you might have, walk you through insurance, or simply listen.
Because therapy doesn’t have to be intimidating. It can be a space where you exhale.
Final Words from Sabrina
You are not too much. You are not behind. You are not broken.
You’re a human being trying to make sense of things, and you deserve support that honors your experience, your identity, and your story.
At Tailored Talks Counseling, we don’t believe in quick fixes or cookie-cutter approaches. We believe in real people, real conversations, and real change. If you're looking for a therapist who shows up for you, you're in the right place.
Let’s take this one step at a time—together.
Warmly,
Sabrina Heller, LCSW
