Introducing Myself
Sabrina Heller, LCSW
Hi, I’m Sabrina Heller, LCSW—a licensed clinical social worker, psychotherapist, and college counselor based in Pittsburgh. With over a decade of experience, I support young adults and adults as they navigate life’s messier moments—identity exploration, major transitions, anxiety, loss, and everything in between. My approach is collaborative, LGBTQ+ affirming, and rooted in respect for your unique story. Whether you’re a college student figuring things out or an adult facing a new chapter, therapy with me is a space where you can show up fully and move toward a life that feels more aligned with who you are.
My Credentials and Commitment:
Trained in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT).

Strongly committed to providing LGBTQIA+ affirming therapy and creating inclusive, supportive spaces.
We might be a good fit if you're hoping to:
Navigate big life changes—like starting college, graduating, launching a career, or ending a relationship—with more clarity and self-compassion
Manage social anxiety and start feeling more confident and true to yourself in social settings
Learn to work with difficult emotions—rather than constantly battling them—through the core principles of ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy).
Find practical strategies that actually fit your values and help you create the kind of life you want
Reconnect with your voice and identity when you're feeling lost, stuck, or unsure of your path
Build a more flexible mindset and learn how to bounce back from challenges without losing yourself in the process

Frequently Asked Questions
Good Faith Estimate
You have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your medical care will cost.
Under the law, health care providers need to give patients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the bill for medical items and services.
- You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency items or services. This includes related costs like medical tests, prescription drugs, equipment, and hospital fees.
- Make sure your health care provider gives you a Good Faith Estimate in writing at least 1 business day before your medical service or item. You can also ask your health care provider, and any other provider you choose, for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule an item or service.
- If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill.
Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate. For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises or call 800-985-3059
Do you accept insurance?
Yes. I accept most major health plans, and use Headway for most of my billing needs. The cost share varies by plan. Some insurance plans also offer OON, and in these cases I can provide a monthly superbill to submit to your insurance company and they can reimburse you directly according to your plan. I still require payment at the time of session.
What is your fee?
My fee is $200 for the initial appointment and $150 for follow up appointments 45-60 minutes.
What is your cancellation policy?
I require 24 hours notice for canceled appointments. Please contact me directly by phone/text or email. If you cancel within 24 hours of your appointment you will be required to pay the full fee for your session. I allow for one "free pass" late cancellation during our time working together. Insurance does not cover no-show or late cancelled appointments.
How often will we meet?
Many of my clients see me weekly or bi-weekly as clinically indicated. We can discuss what might be a good fit as therapy evolves.
How long is a session?
A standard therapy session is 55-minutes.
Can we meet online?
Yes! We have the option to meet via a secure video conferencing platform called Simple Practice which is similar to meeting on Zoom. The client must be located in one of the three states that I am licensed in when the appointment occurs.
How can I find your office?
My office is located at 1569 McFarland Road, Pittsburgh PA 15216, right next to Bird of the Run restaurant. The closest bus stop if for the 36 Banksville South Hills Village which drops off at the Fireplace and Patio Place which is about a .1 mile walk. Alternately the Dormont Junction T-Stop is .3 miles from the office (Madison to Annapolis to McFarland).
What is your availability?
Currently I am available weekday evenings and weekend mornings. My days for in-person appointments are Wednesday evening and Saturdays.
Are you licensed?
Yes! Licensing requirements for LCSW’s in Pennsylvania, require a Master of Social Work degree, 3,500 hours of supervised clinical training, and passing the State licensing board exam. As a social worker I also follow the NASW Code of Ethics. I also must meet the continuing education requirements of each State I am licensed in for each license renewal period to support professional development. Currently those states are PA, MD and VA.
