Therapy to Enhance Emotion Regulation
Learn to ride the wave instead of getting pulled under
It’s not uncommon to feel like your emotions are too much. Maybe you’ve been told you’re too sensitive or that you overreact. Maybe you find yourself overwhelmed by the smallest triggers and don’t always know why. If your emotions feel intense, unpredictable, or out of control, you’re not alone, and it doesn’t have to stay that way.
At Tailored Talks Counseling, emotion regulation therapy is focused on helping you understand your emotional patterns and develop the tools to manage them in healthier, more sustainable ways.

When emotions feel like too much
Life hands us all kinds of emotional experiences: grief, anger, anxiety, heartbreak. For many people, these feelings pass and resolve with time. But if you find yourself stuck in emotional loops, reacting impulsively, or struggling to return to a place of calm, it may be a sign that your nervous system is on constant high alert.
Emotion dysregulation can look like:
Feeling emotionally “out of control”
Struggling with relationships or frequent conflicts
Shutting down or becoming numb when overwhelmed
Trouble identifying or naming your feelings
Difficulty bouncing back from emotional setbacks
Whether you’ve felt this way for years or it’s something new, the good news is that emotional regulation is a skill, one that can be learned and practiced.
You don’t have to keep doing this alone
Therapy focused on emotion regulation helps you respond to overwhelming emotions with increased awareness, steadiness, and compassion. Together, we’ll create a tailored set of strategies to support you in feeling more grounded and balanced in your everyday life.
My approach is client-centered and practical. I integrate evidence-based modalities like Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). These therapies focus on helping you manage emotional responses, build distress tolerance, and reconnect with what matters most to you.
I’m trained in DBT and provide DBT-informed therapy, which means you’ll learn practical skills without the rigid structure of a full-model DBT program. Our sessions are more than just talk. You’ll have the chance to practice new tools in real-time and apply them to the areas of life where you need support most.

A steadier, more connected life is possible
The goal of therapy focused on emotion regulation isn’t to stop feeling. It’s to help you feel in ways that are manageable, meaningful, and aligned with your values. You can learn to handle tough emotions without being consumed by them. You can show up more fully in your relationships and your life.
If you're ready to find balance and learn how to regulate your emotions with more confidence and clarity, I’d be honored to support you.
Let’s start building a life that feels calmer, steadier, and more connected—one step at a time.
